Colorado Arts Partner (CAP) Grants
In 2014, Colorado Creative Industries and Think 360 Arts for Learning joined forces to launch a new collaborative grant-making program: Colorado Arts Partnership (CAP) Grants. The purpose of CAP Grants was to provide schools throughout Colorado with the opportunity to apply for grant funding ($2,000 – $5,000) for collaborative programming with a community artist that sparked innovation, creativity, and joy. Art forms included visual arts, music, dance, theater, performance art, storytelling, and poetry, among many others.
In line with efforts to engage Coloradans of all ages in innovative arts programming that inspired creativity, built community, and advanced equity, applicants were encouraged to consider equity and access when identifying populations to serve and artists or organizations to partner with. CAP Grants served as a powerful method for bringing in artists to enhance social-emotional learning, arts integration, student mental health, school-wide projects, and offerings that students might not have otherwise had access to.
In the fall of 2023, The Colorado Arts Partnership (CAP) Grants program expanded and evolved into the Equity in Arts Learning for Colorado Youth (EAL), a collaborative grant designed to be a catalyst for transformative change in ECE–12 arts education throughout Colorado.
