Wendy Videlock lives on the edge of a canyon in Palisade where she writes, paints, teaches, and advocates for the arts. She is the poet laureate of the Western Slope of Colorado and serves 32 counties. Wendy is the author of seven books, (five poetry collections, an illustrated children’s book, and a collection of essays on the creative process). Her visual art is featured in galleries across the Western Slope.

Her poems and essays appear in Oprah Magazine, Poetry Magazine, Hudson Review, Best American Poetry, Hopkins Review, The New York Times, and other venues.

Wendy believes the arts might just be the answer to all that ails us, that poetry is fundamentally pleasurable, that pleasure is elemental and that all human beings have an inherent sensitivity to language, a tendency toward music and a perhaps latent curiosity about themselves and the world. She takes joy in helping others find ways to nurture their own curiosity and their own meaningful creative practices, habits and rituals.

She teaches across ages and incorporates the visual arts with creative writing in her classes, workshops and presentations.
