Mimi Ferrie (she/her) is a movement educator, performer, community leader, producer, and arts & health advocate. Mimi is the co founder and executive director of Dandelion Arts Collective, an arts-in-health nonprofit dedicated to increasing health equity and public health promotion through performing arts education and practices. With over twenty consecutive years in children’s movement education, she brings her passion and expertise in dance, movement, and the arts to the organizations she partners with.
She has taught in multiple schools, libraries, community centers, and art spaces, reaching thousands of students over her career. She served as the program director for Mountain Contemporary Dance Arts for seven years, implementing an artistry-focused program for movers ages two-adult in the licensed childcare facility Mountain Kids Louisville. She has worked with students with a broad range of movement experiences and cultural, physical, and neurological diversity in classroom and community settings.
Mimi is a BFA graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder dance department and has continued her education in child development, arts education, and public health with institutions including the Colorado School of Public Health, Luna Dance Institute, University of Colorado Denver and National Dance Education Organization. She recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Arts in Public Health from the University of Florida’s School of Arts in Medicine. Mimi served on the 2021-2022 revision committee for the Colorado Academic Dance Standards for the Colorado Department of Education. In 2025 she was awarded the Emerging Leader in Dance Award by the Dance Archive of Colorado. In addition to public health and art’s education, she performs professionally with Wild Heart Dance and New Breed Dance Company, and resides in Longmont with her husband, Ernie and two children, Reed and Noemi.
