Mare Trevathan has been a teaching artist with Think 360 since 2010, specializing in physical theater, voice and guiding students in the creation of their own performance pieces.
Mare is passionate about abolitionist pedagogy and is an active board member with IDEA Stages. (ideastages.org) Environmentalism is also a priority and she loves working with students to create “Found Object” theater, upcycling discarded objects and making creativity accessible to all.
She’s a Voice and Text Coach with the esteemed Colorado Shakespeare Festival, but also loves new and unconventional theater. She is co-author of “Lady M Undone”, slated to be produced by Local Theater Company (American Theatre Wing Award) in 2023. Mare teaches Character Voice, Audiobook Narration, Commercial and Corporate Voice Over at the Tony-award winning Denver Center for the Performing Arts. She has been a guest teaching-artist in many schools and institutions, including the University of Colorado, Boulder; University of Colorado, Colorado Springs; CEPT University in Ahmedabad, India; and 50+ other locales.
Mare trained extensively with masters and creators of the Viewpoints and Suzuki (physical theatre) methodologies at the University of Washington; in Tokyo and Kanazawa, Japan; and with Anne Bogart, Tina Landau and members of the SITI (Saratoga International Theater Institute) Company at Skidmore College and in SITI’s New York studios.
She has narrated over 750 audiobooks.
