Curious New Voices is the award-winning youth Education Program of Curious Theatre Company. Now in its eighth year, this program offers theatrical opportunities for youth that are educational, empowering and artistically accelerated. Furthering Curious Theatre Company’s core value of “fearless pioneering of new artistic frontiers”, our goal is to allow youth a form for creative expression that is bold, imaginative and expands their understanding of what is possible as an artist in today’s changing world.
Teaching the art of playwriting is at the core of our educational programming. Playwrights between the ages of 15 – 21 have created plays on a variety of diverse and compelling themes. These plays are available for performance by professional actors. Not only do the professional artists involved in Curious New Voices get the eye-opening experience of working on a well-crafted piece of theatre written by a young artists, but the young writer, as well, is able to collaborate at the top of their intelligence with some of Denver’s best theatre-makers. Through classes and performances Curious is contributing to the next generation of great American playwrights.
Curious works with Think 360 Arts to provide high school playwriting and theatre classes working in tandem with curriculum.
