Beyond Freeze Dance: Movement, Learning, and Trauma
Presented by: Elise Silva, Queenz of Hip-Hop
Explore new science about the relationship between movement and the capacity for learning in young children, especially among those affected by trauma. Together we will identify and engage in practices that support healthy cognitive, physical, and social/emotional development, as well as deepen our understanding of the effects of trauma and its healing. No movement experience necessary.

Authentic Youth and Adult Partnerships through Intentional Youth Voice
Presented by: Joey Pace, Youth Success Director with the Mayor’s Office of Children’s Affairs
This interactive workshop will explore ways to strengthen youth/adult partnerships by applying intentional youth voice practices. Workshop participants will learn about common pitfalls that often lead to a non-authentic youth voice and how to best avoid them. This workshop will equip you with tools that are adaptable to partnerships and interactions with youth.
