Colorado Art Tank 2018
February 21, 2018 @ 6:15 pm - 9:15 pm
We are excited to announce that Think 360 Arts and Improv Alchemy have been selected as finalists for #ColoradoArtTank 2018, an interactive community event showcasing Denver’s best artists and creative projects on February 21 at Gates Hall at The Newman Center.
Think 360 Arts and Improv Alchemy will be pitching our Denver Talent Show Network project to a panel of judges for special grant funding from The Denver Foundation’s Arts Affinity Group. But the audience gets a vote too! The pitch that receives the most audience votes will receive and Audience Award of at least $5,000.
Join us at Colorado Art Tank 2018 and vote to bring more arts education opportunities to our communities!
Art Tank is FREE to attend but space is limited, so you must RSVP to secure your seat.
About Our Project
The Denver Talent Show Network, a partnership between Think 360 Arts for Learning and Lainie Hodges and Improv Alchemy, looks to create a network of transformative talent shows for young people around Denver, particularly some of the most under-served populations of the near northeast (Five Points, Globeville, Eyria-Swansea, and Cole), far northeast (Montbello and Green Valley Ranch), and the west side (Baker, Sun Valley, Valverde, Villa Park, and Barnum). Young people will produce and perform in shows that include all levels of talent; everyone who auditions makes the show. Neighbors, community members, and other volunteers support the show’s production and the Network gives everyone an opportunity to create new performances with people they do not know. This allows people of all backgrounds to work together to create a new kind of community that shows that we care about them and that they matter.
About Colorado Art Tank
Now in its fourth year, Colorado Art Tank takes a “business unusual” approach to finding and funding innovative programs that harness the power of the arts to inspire, educate, and engage the community. Colorado Art Tank is presented by The Denver Foundation’s Arts Affinity Group in partnership with Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, Colorado Creative Industries, Denver Arts & Venues, and the Robert and Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts. Since its inception in 2013, Colorado Art Tank has awarded more than $250,000 to organizations including Arts Street, Lighthouse Writers Workshop, Access Gallery, Warm Cookies of the Revolution, Youth on Record, and many more. In 2018, five finalists will compete for up to $55,000 in funding.
About Denver Foundation’s Arts Affinity Group (AAG)
The Denver Foundation’s Arts Affinity Group is a giving circle composed of arts lovers and supporters who each have committed to fund arts-learning activities in Metro Denver. The group gathers at least quarterly for meetings that include presentations from arts leaders about topics that are applicable to the group’s grantmaking interests. The group also collaborates for deeper donor engagement through grantmaking, education, and outreach.
