Rob Bell, a long time inhabitant of Colorado, was born in Kyoto, Japan in 1978 and grew up in Boulder, Colorado. After receiving a BFA from Colorado State University in the fall of 2001, he began expressing himself primarily through abstract paintings. In 2006 he went east to Boston and studied art in a one-year graduate program at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. Robert returned to Colorado in 2007 and began creating work in the RiNo District of Denver. He attended Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design in 2011, achieving a Web Design Certificate. Currently he continues his fine art practice of abstract painting and figure drawing and was recently hired at F4D Studio in Denver as a videographer.
Rob describes himself as a process-oriented artist and brings that approach to the classroom. His workshops focus on teaching students self-expression and creative problem solving for the 21st century. Rob offers instruction in drawing, painting, screen-printing, digital art and video production. Thinking about art in a pluralistic manner and employing different techniques to reach a goal is what makes his workshops so valuable to students.
Rob Bell is available for full or part-time residencies.
