Eileen Roscina

Eileen’s teaching fosters connection with the natural world through art making across a variety of mediums including botanical illustration, printmaking, filmmaking, sculpture, natural materials, kaleidoscopes, sun prints, and collage. Eileen teaches social emotional learning workshops, looking to our natural world as a guide — using patterns, forms and materials found in nature to inform art projects. To aid in idea generation and visualization, she leads students on sensory walks, earthing, meditative outdoor sessions exercises invite inspiration by clearing the mind and connecting with the earth.

Eileen Roscina is a multimedia artist, experimental filmmaker and naturalist from Denver, Colorado. She has taught as a guest artist at several K-12  public and private schools and has been an open studio instructor at DAVA in Aurora. She earned a BFA from Emerson College in Boston, MA and trained at the School of Botanical Art and Illustration in Denver. She has exhibited film internationally, was the 2019 Resident Artist for the National Western Stock Show, is a resident at RedLine Contemporary Art Center, Denver and was a 2020 featured artist for Untitled Creative Fusions at the Denver Art Museum. She is represented by Walker Fine Art Gallery in Denver, CO.

    A workshop or residency for K- 12 that is customizable to your needs using choosing from a variety of mediums including: botanical illustration, printmaking, filmmaking, sculpture, natural materials, kaleidoscopes, sun prints, and collage.

  • Mirrors in Art

    Workshop or Residency for grades 3rd through 12th

    In this workshop students will explore the use of mirrors and other reflective surfaces in art, animate drawings with a mirrored praxinoscope, explore the infinite world of kaleidoscopes, make mirror side view boxes and experiment using mirrors in 2Dpainting/printmaking/photography.

  • Experimental Sun Prints on Paper and Fiber

    Workshop or Residency for grades K through 12th

    Students will learn the magical process of using the power of the sun to make stunning works of cyanotype art. We will make sun prints on fabric and paper and then use our results to make a final mixed media paper or fiber based work.

  • The Art of Nature

    Workshop or Residency for grades K through 12th

    This workshop will be occur outside collecting natural materials that we will then use inside the classroom to make contemporary sculptures, natural weavings, or make ephemeral outdoor artworks.
