Brenda Jones has taught art for all ages from elementary to university. She has worked in Jeffco Public Schools and is currently living in South Fork, CO focusing on studio practices and working with the Creede Art Council community activities. Her narrative ceramic sculptural and slip cast works have been in numerous shows across a number of states and are represented by Abbey Lane Gallery in Creede, Colorado. She has a Masters of Arts in Art History and Ceramics from Wichita State University and has been a resident of Red Ledge Clay Center in Montana as well as a Fulbright Summer teacher in both Argentina and Japan.
Brenda is interested in developing each student’s personal story through the process of working with clay. Confidence building, self reliance, imagination and creativity are key skills that she focuses on during art making. Students learn key skills of building, finishing and reflecting while creating work in clay. This engaging medium helps students to make connections with art throughout time and across curricula. Brenda’s instruction focuses on individual creativity, problem solving and encouragement.
