My Day as a ___________

Workshop or Residency for grades K through 5th

Students spend time outdoors observing, then become an animal, plant, object or landscape feature they have seen, or seen signs of. They ask questions such as What am I doing—hunting for food, hiding from a predator, playing with my friends, growing out of the ground? Who are my family and friends? How does living here affect my life and what I do or what happens to me? They then write a first-person story from the point of view of that thing.
