Mural Making

Mural Making

Residency for grades K through 12th

Mural making is as unique as the space it lives in. It is important to ask questions and create in every space and community with new ideas and answers to those questions. Through my previous experience in public art, I have developed skills in pitching ideas, managing teams, and collaborating on an artistic vision. I believe clarity of ideas and open communication channels are key when executing a major project. They are also great life skills to build on while creating art. I have organized and developed artwork with city officials, art commission boards, non-profits, private business, community centers, universities and public schools. This allows me to talk real life experiences with students on how to practically make art as a living. My role as a creative is to push for everyone to have input in developing the strongest possible idea, while creating access to participate on different levels with the mural. My goal when creating a new work for a school would be to provide creative leadership that results in a project that proudly represents the school’s vision, identity, culture and elevates the experience for every student.
