Hermit Crab: Yourself in Words

Workshop or Residency for grades 4th through 12th

Students will explore how they can write about themselves by “borrowing” other forms—everything from recipes to horoscopes to how-to instructions—just as hermit crabs borrow the empty shells of other sea creatures. Great for all levels of writers, from the experienced wanting to play with forms to the reluctant writers who may be performing a grade or two below their expected level.
