Fearless Writing

Fearless Writing

Workshop or Residency for grades 9th through 12th

Students will learn how to take their personal experience and interests in current events to write powerful pieces. They will learn how to combine storytelling elements (character, scene, place, etc.) with passions, opinions, and even anger to impact their readers. This concept is designed to help students develop empathy and understand how we can connect to each other in today’s fractured world. The workshop or residency can be designed for creative non-fiction (personal essay/memoir), or fiction (short stories/flash fiction), or a hybrid (such as memoir and poetry).
