Media Literacy

Media Literacy

Workshop or Residency for grades K through 12th

A fun exploration of contemporary media where students develop critical thinking skills and learn appropriate ways to create and disseminate their own media. The ability to read media creates youth who are better able to understand the complex messages we receive from online, television, and in print. Media literacy covers a wide range of topics providing tools to comprehend representation of gender, race, class, and sexuality in media thus building self-confidence. Media literacy skills support many curriculum requirements throughout most subjects.
