Blackout Poetry Workshop

Blackout Poetry Workshop

Workshop for grades Pre-K through 12th

Students explore blackout poetry, a minimalist form of poetry in which students use sharpies or markers to black out words on newspapers, book pages, or handouts. Instead of creating something out of nothing, students work with the art of deconstruction. The lesson is finding a story within a story.
