A Magical Carpet Ride for Little Dancers

Performance for grades K through 12th

Through this colorful, lighthearted performance, students travel the Middle East as they experience a variety of traditional dances and discover the stories behind the Zeffa, Zar, Kashlimar, Greek Line Dance, and Raks Sharki Using props like balancing swords, spoons and zills, Rooshana weaves cultural lessons into dances, and invites children to perform with her and ask questions. The costuming is eye-catching and typical of Belly Dance; however, a sponsoring organization may request that the dancer wear a one piece folk costume.
