Creativity is the cornerstone of my life and undoubtedly, my career. Outside-the-box thinking is a prerequisite in my field, and the foundation for that mindset formed early with the arts education I received. Early on in my schooling, I found outlet in writing. That became the basis of my life’s work, first as a print journalist and today in corporate communications in the banking industry. Without my arts education, I would have been a student without direction. The creativity that was cultivated in me gave me a clear path. The encouragement I received from each of my teachers opened my mind to see and learn things differently and in my own way. The arts are so much more than painting, music, and dance. They are a means to allow students a full education – one in which each of them can grasp core subjects, as well as the value of the arts. They are a lightning rod for learning. Put simply: no education is complete without the arts, and Think 360 Arts works every day to ensure a whole education for every Colorado child. I fiercely believe in this organization.
